Born in 1934, he is considered one of the pioneers of Chinese abstraction. Like Zao Wou ki and Chu Teh Chun, he discovered and was inspired by Western abstraction in the 1950s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fusion between East and West will be at the heart of his aesthetic research throughout his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition presents about twenty works from the 1970s to the present day. Two masterpieces come from the large retrospective that has just been dedicated to him at the Taipei Museum of Fine Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his abstract landscapes, it is with the greatest freedom that he merges the bright colours, the vitality of the layout, the effects of transparency and the materials.
