Young-Sé Lee

Contemplation

Vazieux Art Gallery Paris is pleased to present its new exhibition dedicated to the artist Young-Sé Lee and to highlight a significant collection of his abstract works created from the 1990s to the present day.

Artist of Korean origin, Young-Sé Lee arrived in Paris at a very young age where he was introduced to painting in his father Ungno Lee’s studio, before attending La grande Chaumière, then L’Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
His work, resolutely modern, has its roots in the Asian tradition. Nature, translated informally, mixes plant, mineral, water, earth and light, and dialogue with the richness of the materials and techniques used by the artist. The combination of the raw aspect of the wood, which leaves its mark on the finesse of the paper, mixed with the fluidity of the natural inks, gives his works a harmony oscillating between strength and lightness that invites meditation.

The exhibition, conceived as a journey, allows visitors to discover this ensemble, encouraging them to immerse themselves in these infinite and silent spaces.
