Qin Feng
(1961)
Born in 1961 in Xinjiang, Qing Feng (秦风) graduated from the Shandong University of Art and Design in 1985. In 1996, invited by a cultural exchange program, he moved to and taught at the Berlin University of Art for 3 years. In 1999, he moved to Boston, the United State. After returning back to China in 2006, Qin founded the Beijing Museum of Contemporary Art. Facing up to the Western art, he has interpreted the tradition of Chinese ink painting from a new perspective. His works are liberated and powerful, which are related directly with the gestures and energy of traditional calligraphy.
